Hans J. Wegner’s light, sculptured CH33P chair is based on the ideas and shapes which are typical of his best designs. The chair was designed in 1957 for Carl Hansen & Søn, where it was manufactured for ten years. With a break of about 45 years, production resumed in 2012. CH33P’s design has character and clear organic forms. The elegant chair’s height, depth and angles are carefully set to fit the occupant and the dimensions of the wood are chosen according to the factors Wegner found necessary. The characteristically curved backrest is a form-pressed veneer featuring visible round cover caps. The Wegner chair’s wooden construction has a vibrant appearance which lends itself to modern interiors. CP33P has a padded seat upholstered in fabrics or leather which increases comfort and accentuates its luxurious appearance. The CH33T version of the chair has a veneer seat with a choice of different wood types and a variety of colours.
